Wolf4SDL is a conversion of the classic game Wolfenstein 3D to make use of the SDL libraries, in order to facilitate the power play the game on multiple platforms.
To play you need to have any of these versions Wolfenstein 3D Wolfenstein 3D
- v1.0, v1.1, v1.2, v1.4
- shareware Wolfenstein 3D v1.1, v1.4 full
- Apogee Wolfenstein 3D v1.4 full GT / ID / Activision
- Spear of Destiny demo, complete, or missions discs
We must change the file "version.h" the source code to indicate which version of the original game is what we have. The shareware version can be easily found online, for example here. Once compiled the game, you can place the executable in the same directory where the files have the original game, taking special care to have all the names files in small letters.
The importance of such games reviews, is allowing us to relive old times with no emulation, on different operating systems, and various machines such as the GP2X or Dreamcast. Moreover, this version has multichannel digital sound, the ability to change the resolution, and full support for joystick.
The latest release is 1.6.
