Tremulous is an action game in first person, futuristic setting. Is free software and free.

Players can choose between 2 teams: aliens or humans. Both sides can build structures: the aliens are born from eggs every time you die while humans are born telenodos. The construction of the bases includes defense structures in order to protect the nodes / Eggs The object is to eliminate the opposing team by killing all its components and destroying structures that enable them to be reborn. By killing enemies get loans to buy better weapons and shields in the case of humans or evolve to be more powerful in the case of aliens.

In the game there are three stages. The way to reach these stages is when one side gets deaths add a number. When one side goes to the next stage get new weapons or potential developments thus more powerful. Reach the next stage before the opposing team is a great advantage over it.

Aliens as a reward for building structures and / or taking the lives of an unlucky man knocked at the meeting, evolution earn points that can be used in new developments. Peaks of accumulated development does not exceed 9, forcing them to use them or share them with the rest of the team. When you start the game or returning from an unfortunate death, the player has two classes of aliens at its option Dretch and Granger.

The aliens can use their eons to evolve new creatures. Developments available depend on the stage of the game in which they are and how much they have in stock evos. One can only develop if the Overmind is built.

Humans get credit for the damage inflicted on the alien when they die, to be distributed in proportion to the amount of each human life has been taken from the alien. The credit limit is 2000.

Tremulous development began in 2000 as a modification of Quake III Arena engine. This inspired especially Gloom, which in turn is a modification of Quake II. Version 1.0.0 was released on August 11, 2005. Thanks to

Quake III code release under the GPL, developers decided to launch a game Tremulous 1.1.0 that did not need Quake to be played.
